Pamela Shanteau has been airbrushing since the late 1970’ and was a pioneer for women who wanted to airbrush in the custom motorcycle and car worlds.  Since that time, Pamela has earned a reputation as one of the top airbrush painters and instructors in the USA. Her custom painting resume covers anything that paint sticks to including autos, cycles, body painting, airplanes and boats.

In 2002 Pamela authored the widely heralded “Ultimate Airbrush Handbook” for Watson-Guptill Publishing. It covers the subject of airbrushing from soup to nuts.

2007 marked the release of her 2^nd book “Custom Automotive and Motorcycle Airbrushing 101”. This hard cover instruction manual shows some of Pam’s signature painting techniques.

Pamela has illustrated for many fantasy role playing game companies, providing fantasy art for games, book covers and trading cards. Publications such as Dragon Magazine, Wizards of the Coast's Legend of the Five Rings, Legends of the Burning Sands and Soul of the Empire, Iron Crown's Tolkien role playing game, and Visionary Entertainment feature fantasy art by Pamela. Her Art has also graced products from the Salamander mail order catalog and Royal Fireworks Press.

In 1990, Pamela began teaching workshops around the US with her sponsors (Ampersand Art Products and Iwata Medea). Pamela has instructed for the UAW and United Steel Workers Unions in their “Employee Enrichment Programs”.  Through the years, Pamela has taught thousands of students how to use an airbrush. Because of the width and breathe of Pamela’s airbrushing and teaching experience, she is often referred to as the “Godmother of American Airbrushing”.

In 2008 a documentary was shot about Pamela and her husband Donn. Titled “ A Dot a Line and a Fade”,the film follows Pamela as she paints in her studio and attends events around the country. “ A Dot a Line and a Fade”.
